Before Dirk’s decision to specialize in script and screenwriting, Dirk wrote, produced, directed, & edited over 120 indie-film and video projects in many genres, bringing them from concept to completion. Since 1989, Dirk Eichhorst has worked both as an independent producer and as a staff writer-director for several companies.

Dirk has helmed small crews of 3 as well as larger crews of 6 to 12, and has worked with multiple extras. Past projects have ranged from one-day shoots to weeks of studio & location shooting & traveling. Click for partial list of credits.

Productions have sent Dirk globetrotting both domestically and internationally. Highlights include Dirk’s first narrative feature DREAM STORY (1990), filmed in Chicago, Canada, and Michigan’s Copper Harbor; SO SEND I YOU (1996), filmed in Kenya Africa; and THE FIRST MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL AT VAN KAMPEN GARDENS (2001), shot at Hampton Court in Herefordshire England.

In 2003, Dirk directed, co-wrote, & edited the educational DVD, PURSUING THE TRUTH, which took Dirk and the Sola Scriptura crew to various Florida locations including The Boca Raton Museum of Art, Harley Davidson Orlando, and the historic Ocoee Christian Church.

Other productions include "VISIT JERUSALEM IN ORLANDO" (a 60-second TV spot for Brighthouse Network); "THE SCRIPTORIUM" (a 2-hour documentary on ancient Bibles which aired on TBN); "HEROES ADRIFT" (a Star Wars Fan Movie short for DVD and web including making-of documentary); and BODY BALANCING BY TIM MICHAELS (a six-part fitness DVD series, for which Dirk received a 2006 Accolade Award). Dirk is founder and former president of the non-profit Cumberland Media Ministries, Inc., where he served 4 years and produced the low-budget feature, THE WELLSPRING in 1996. Dirk’s other full-time positions have included: Production Manager at L. PLUMMER COMMUNICATIONS in Detroit, Michigan USA; Media Producer for Sola Scriptura in Orlando, Florida USA; and Video Producer at The Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida, USA.
